Gorgeous photographs. Dogwood “flowers” are actually modified leaves or bracts. The actual flower (cluster of flowers) is the knobby element in the center of the white bracts.

Thanks fot the post and the great shots. The flower market in Amsterdam is a little disappointing, don’t you think? Lots of tourist shuffling past rather cramped stalls. But the Keukenhof is great – much better even than I expected. Happy travelling (and gardening too!)

it is amazing to see the gardener standing on a beautiful old rusty quite pre historic ladder , cutting a confire which is cast in a designed frame made out of aluminium.. the world is completely upside down.. best always..M
