PRÊT-A-PORTER: READY TO CARRY

Fresh from the Salon du Végétal in Angers, a new plant accessory concept: recycling clothing into posh plant pots… Completely watertight thanks to a thermo-welded inner lining, and completely fashionable thanks to a particularly chic tweed (a denim version is quite fetching as well), these “Free’p” (a play on the French slang term for vintage) soft pots not only make a decorative statement, but allow one to take a walk accompanied by one’s favourite plant… While this might sound a bit far-fetched, it is certainly less ridiculous than walking around with a teacup chihuahua in one’s purse. Designed by two young industrial design students from the Jean-Monnet high school, Céline Avrilla and Solène Guillois, it is clear there is a future for plants in fashion.

To be continued…
