FLOWER AMO

Spring is definitely here in Paris, with horti-culturally inspired designs budding everywhere. The latest hybrid in vase design is the AMO (as in ammunition) vase by designer Jean-Marc Gady (former art director chez Louis Vuitton). A transparent, canon-shaped pyrex vase is tipped precariously on its side and held in place by a Corian pedestal. The idea is to place long sprays of flowers and branches in the canon/vase: no bullets, just blossoms. I particularly like Gady’s installation, above, for his upcoming show at the Galerie R’Pure in New York: a floral shoot-off that cancels out any negative energy and reminds us to make love, not war…

Like I said, it’s spring…
